Research
What the research says.
Guided breathing is being studied as a wellness practice. There are promising findings, along with limits worth understanding.
These studies evaluated breathing practices, not Airea or its three-minute demo. They do not guarantee an individual result.

Breathing and perceived stress.
A review of 12 trials involving 785 adults found a small to moderate reduction in perceived stress compared with controls. Most studies had a moderate risk of bias.
A four-week remote trial compared daily five-minute breathing exercises with meditation. Cyclic sighing showed improvements in mood and a greater reduction in breathing rate.
In a trial of 400 adults, slow breathing did not outperform an active faster-breathing control for stress and wellbeing after four weeks. Both groups improved, with no significant difference between them.
